Chelsea and Arsenal meet in the Premier League this weekend, in the latest chapter between the two London rivals.

Over the years, the two teams have fought out classic clashes in the league, cup and even in Europe, with each game having its own memorable narrative and jam-packed with superstar names.

However, of those players who have appeared for the clubs in the Premier League era, which stars would make a combined XI from the Gunners and the Blues? DAZN News takes its pick...

Petr Cech

Petr Cech is a Premier League legend with both London clubs.

The Czech goalkeeper made 333 Premier League appearances and won four titles with the Blues before joining Arsenal in 2015.

The reactive shot-stopper featured 110 times for the Gunners to take his top-flight tally to 443 appearances.

Ashley Cole

Widely touted as the best left-back England has produced.

Ashley Cole progressed through the Arsenal ranks and made 156 Premier League appearances, winning two titles. He moved to Chelsea in 2006 and was heavily criticised by the Arsenal faithful for what they believed was a betrayal for money.

Cole, who blended a relentless energy in attack with a tenacity in defence, made a further 229 league appearances with the Blues, adding another title in 2010.

John Terry

An England and Chelsea captain, John Terry played with a steely determination at the heart of the Blues' defence.

His range of passing can occasionally be overlooked in comparison to his leadership qualities but his ability in the air was also an asset in either box.

Terry won five Premier League titles and made 492 top-flight appearances with Chelsea.

Arsenal's current centre-back pairing may get a shout sometime in the future, but big Sol would be the ideal partner in defence for Terry.

His move across North London may have been controversial, but it was the ideal career move for the talented defender.

At Arsenal, the England man would make up the back four that the Gunners built their Invincibles season on.

Branislav Ivanovic

Serbian solidity and swashbuckling charges from right-back with a potency in front of goal.

Branislav Ivanovic joined Chelsea in 2008 and his no-nonsense approach quickly won the endearment of Chelsea fans.

He made 261 Premier League appearances and won three titles, while only Terry has scored more goals for the club from defence.

Claude Makelele

France midfielder Claude Makelele was so influential as a deep-lying midfielder, the role has since been named in his honour.

Timely interventions and forward-thinking in possession, Makelele was an accomplished disrupter of opposition attacks with an eye for a pass.

He made 144 appearances and won two Premier League titles as a stalwart of the Chelsea side during Jose Mourinho's first term in charge.

Patrick Vieira

A box-to-box enforcer who led by example. Patrick Vieira was Arsene Wenger's lieutenant in the heart of Arsenal's midfield and he could simply do it all.

He could smash opponents off the ball and thread defence-splitting passes in equal measure.

The Frenchman made 279 Premier League appearances - winning three titles - and was the captain of the club's Invincibles side, which went through the entire 2003-04 season unbeaten.

Frank Lampard

When you think of goals from midfield, there are few better than Frank Lampard. The Chelsea legend moved to West London from West Ham in 2001 and the rest is history.

The England midfielder could score from range and had a knack for arriving in the right place at the right time to apply the finishing touch to Chelsea's flowing attacks.

Lampard won three Premier League titles and scored a club-record 147goals in 429 top-flight appearances for the Blues.

Dennis Bergkamp

There have been few players in football like the magician that was Dennis Bergkamp, who is in the conversation for the Premier League's greatest import.

His arrival in 1995 was a watershed moment for England's top flight, as the Dutchman became one of the first real world-class names to embrace the top flight's 'whole new ball game'.

And embrace he did, the forward with the velvet touch made scoring worldies his MO, and is regarded as an Arsenal legend thanks to his part in the 1998 double win and as part of the Invincibles side.

Thierry Henry

Easily the first name on the team sheet, Henry is arguably the best the Premier League has ever seen.

He arrived in North London as a dangerous but raw winger, but evolved into a world-class forward who was at his peak during his time with the Gunners.

The pace, power and Va Van Voom of the Frenchman saw him lead Arsenal to two league titles, while Henry was a Golden Boot winner on four separate occasions.

Didier Drogba

The poster boy for the lone frontman, Didier Drogba made being a focal point the way to play in the Premier League.

Big, strong, powerful and an utter nightmare for defenders, the Ivorian was a key member of Jose Mourinho's Chelsea revolution.

The striker was also the man for the big occasion, making a name for himself by scoring in a string of cup final wins.
