Thomas Frank now knows exactly who Eberechi Eze is.

On Sunday, Eze faced Tottenham Hotspur for the first time as an Arsenal player and scored three goals as the Gunners easily claimed the latest edition of the North London Derby by a 4-1 score.

It was the kind of legend-making performance that is talked about for ages, and Eze seemingly acknowedged Frank's cheeky comments with an attacking masterclass and a wry smile following each of his goals.

On Friday, Frank jokingly pretended to be unfamiliar with the Arsenal No. 10, who was on the verge of joining Spurs in the summer before the Gunners swooped in ahead fof their arch-rivals and secured Eze's signature in a £67.5 million transfer. When asked about the 27-year-old at Tottenham's pre-match press conference, Frank responded with a smile: "Who's Eze? Very good player. He plays for Arsenal. A team we want to beat on Sunday."

Instead it was Arsenal doing the beating, led by the dynamic Eze, who nearly struck for a fourth goal on the night but was stopped by a top-class diving save by Guglielmo Vicario in the dying stages of the match.

"That's a good one, man," Eze told Sky Sports after the match. "Enjoyable day. Happy to help the team and to win today was a special.

"It's special. I am grateful. I prayed for it. This is what I pray for. I prayed for a hat-trick so I am grateful to God.

"That was the prayer today. God gave it to me and that is faith, man. All my family is here and that makes it even more special for me."

With his three goals on Sunday, Eze became the first player to score a hat-trick in a North London Derby since 1978. Each goal was different, and when asked if he had a favourite, Eze said it was tough to choose.

"They are all good," he said. "Maybe the second one. That was my favourite. All of them are good for me because I have been working on the process to get in that position so that's good again."
