Liverpool are through to the Carabao Cup final after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 at Anfield on Thursday, rendering Spurs' 1-0 victory in last month's first-leg null.

The Reds claimed the lead through Cody Gakpo's first-half strike, putting the teams on level terms on aggregate. In the second half, the match and the tie were blown wide open as Liverpool scored three more times, with Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk adding their names to the scoresheet.

Gakpo stated after the match that the Anfield crowd played their part in pushing the Reds to victory, as the Liverpool players knew they had the ability to turn the tie around but benefitted from the home fans' enthusiasm.

"I think the stadium helped a lot," Gakpo told Sky Sports. "We knew we had to come back. We went out there and tried to bring as much chances as possible.

"With the quality we have, we know we are going to get chances. It was a great win."

With Liverpool advancing to the final, the club remain alive in four separate competitions. Not only are they a win away from lifting the Carabao Cup, they are still in contention for the FA Cup, lead the Premier League standings, and are into the Champions League round of 16 after topping the league phase table.

It's a dream scenario for the side, but Gakpo stressed that they have yet to win anything.

"We are on the right track, but we have to take it game-by-game," he said. "Today it was a good job done - we are in one final, but we have a lot to play for.

"We are in a good flow at the moment, but we have to keep going. You know how football goes and it's about consistency. We have to keep the momentum."
