Premier League Team of the Week for Matchweek 8

Premier League team of the week

Goalkeeper: Senne Lammens (Manchester United)

It's back-to-back appearances in our team of the week for the Red Devils goalkeeper, who made five saves to help Manchester United take down Liverpool at Anfield for the first time in nearly a decade.

Defender: Nordi Mukiele (Sunderland)

The Sunderland right back was a force on either side of the ball, defending well and scoring the opening goal of the Black Cats' 2-0 win over Wolves.

Defender: Harry Maguire (Manchester United)

Maguire often seems to come up with a big goal for United, and none have been bigger this season than his 84th-minute game-winner against Liverpool. In defence, he made eight clearances and four recoveries to help keep the Reds at bay.

Defender: Gabriel Magalhães (Arsenal)

Undeniably, the Gunners' leader at the back, Gabriel, put forth another massive effort by putting out fires all game long while also providing the match-winning assist.

Defender: Marc Cucurella (Chelsea)

Sure, Nottingham Forest weren't the biggest of tests for the Chelsea left back, but he made sure nothing was coming down his side of the pitch.

Midfielder: Moises Caicedo (Chelsea)

His influence on the Chelsea midfield is evident, as he made a huge impact as a second-half substitute, helping to control the flow of the game with his exceptional talent.

Midfielder: Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

The Red Devils' leader came through again with a big performance, including the assist on Maguire's winner. But Fernandes was also influential defensively, with a couple of tackles and clearances along with five recoveries.

Midfielder: Declan Rice (Arsenal)

Another weekend in which Rice showed why he's so crucial to Arsenal's success, as the midfielder helped control things in a match that was as tight as can be on the scoreboard.

Forward: Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

It was vintage Saka at Craven Cottage as the Arsenal winger could not be contained. In fact, he was the most fouled player on the pitch, and that doesn't even count the overturned penalty that he drew.

Forward: Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

Two more goals for the runaway Golden Boot leader, as Haaland did all the scoring in City's 2-0 win over Everton. Enough said.

Forward: Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace)

Mateta recorded a hat-trick to rescue the point for Palace in a wild 3-3 draw with Bournemouth.
