Bob Arum has long been an admirer of Naoya Inoue after promoting the Japanese sensation for a number of years now.
The veteran promoter, now 93, has been around boxing for many decades and he has seen many legendary fighters come and go.
From Muhammad Ali to Floyd Mayweather, Arum has worked with some of the sport’s most iconic names, but it is Inoue that he has the most praise for.
Now a four-weight world champion and eyeing a potential move to featherweight to make it five , Inoue has blazed his way through numerous weight-classes destroying every opponent he has faced.
An undisputed world champion at two weight classes, Inoue has held a collection of belts, and it is possible that his best days are still in front of him.
Even though more honours could await Inoue, Arum has seen enough, and he has declared him the best fighter he has ever seen.
“Inoue is not only pound-for-pound the best in the world, Inoue is the best fighter I’ve ever seen, no matter what weight category or anything,” said Arum when speaking to Jai McAllister .
“I have never ever in the almost 60-years I’ve been in boxing seen anything like Inoue."
