Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is a two-time undisputed champion at super middleweight, after he downed William Scull to reclaim the IBF crown and reunite all four major belts.
The Mexican superstar picked up the strap he vacated last year with a steady points win in Riyadh to make history and write his name into the record books once again.
This road to a second stint has been easier than his first, with Canelo needing to only secure two wins since dropping back to only his WBA, WBC and WBO crowns.
Now, after his latest triumph, DAZN News takes a look back at Alvarez's road to his first undisputed super middleweight title.
As the world slowly exited out of lockdowns due to COVID-19, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez began his quest to become an undisputed champion at super middleweight.
First up was WBA champion Callum Smith at San Antonio's Alamodome where the vacant WBC belt was also at stake.
With Smith's superior height and reach, many believed he would cause plenty of problems for Alvarez. However, Alvarez used an effective jab and focused on the body to breakdown 'Mundo'.
After 12 rounds of dominance and control from Alvarez, the Mexican was declared the winner by unanimous decision and had two of the four major world title belts at 168lbs.
After a third round stoppage win over Avni Yildrim three months prior, Canelo Alvarez had another world champion in his sights, the controversial and outspoken Billy Joe Saunders who held the WBO belt.
The build-up was chaotic as can often be the case with Saunders threatening to not fight due to the ring being too small for the Brit's liking.
This issue was eventually solved and the fight went ahead at a packed AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
Saunders gave a good account of himself during the contest, his footwork made sure that Alvarez did not have his own way and even won some rounds against the Mexican. However, Alvarez's power proved instrumental. A right uppercut in round eight fractured Saunders' right orbital bone and at the end of the round, Saunders was unable to continue.
As a result, Alvarez added another world title belt to his collection and now there was just one belt left, the IBF title which was held by Caleb Plant.

Canelo Alvarez's chance to become an undisputed super middleweight champion had been locked in.
Taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Alvarez would attempt to unify his WBA, WBC and WBO titles with Caleb Plant's IBF belt to become the first undisputed champion at 168lbs.
After a brief altercation at the launch press conference two months prior, many hoped for a brutal battle and Plant at first was able to compete with Alvarez. His jab and slick movement kept Alvarez at bay, but as is often the case, once the Mexican finds the body, he comes out on top.
Plant was knocked down in the tenth with a left hook-right uppercut combination, but managed to meet the referee's count. Then in the eleventh, the American found himself on the ring canvas once more after absorbing numerous punches from Alvarez and the referee Russell Mora decided to wave off the fight.
In front of a packed MGM Grand Garden Arena, Alvarez made history and cemented his status as a pound-for-pound great.
Four years after a thrilling second encounter, undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez would finally meet Gennadiy Golovkin in an eagerly-anticipated trilogy fight.
However, unlike the first two fights, it was one-sided with Alvarez controlling all 12 rounds against an aging Golovkin who was past his best.
Alvarez successfully retained his undisputed super middleweight title by unanimous decision with scores of 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112.
Las Vegas and the United States had become a second home for Canelo Alvarez, but there was always a demand for him to return to Guadalajara, Mexico.
Mexican fight fans got their wish on May 6 when Alvarez defended his undisputed super middleweight title against Britain's John Ryder.
Stepping into a hostile atmosphere, Ryder was given very little chance of producing an upset and that's exactly what transpired at Estadio Akron.
Alvarez was very much at the peak of his powers, dominating another 12-round contest. The Mexican knocked down Ryder in round five with his hooks to the body and head making a tough task for the 'Gorilla'.
It was no surprise Alvarez was given the win on all three judges' scorecards which topped a memorable night in his hometown.
