Dave Allen has namechecked Deontay Wilder as a potential fight following his rematch success over Johnny Fisher, with Matchroom's Frank Smith calling it "a great fight".
The White Rhino secured his revenge over the Romford Bull earlier this month following a controversial loss in Riyadh last year, securing a fifth-round stoppage in London.
The star, who won the WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title from his former sparring partner at the Copper Box Arena, has subsequently signed with Matchroom after his win.
Now, the star has weighed in on his future plans and admits that a clash with former world champion Wilder would be a dream bout to follow a South Yorkshire homecoming.
"I think we're going to go to Sheffield," he said. "We'll dig someone up for that. Then there's Deontay Wilder. That's one that's been talked about and it's one I'd like."
Smith, who was with Allen for the pre-fight press conference ahead of Jack Catterall and Harlem Eubank's upcoming bout, echoed the star's comments and hailed his success.
"[It's a] great fight," he added. "Dave Allen has proven so many people wrong. [He's] in a tremendous place. I think he's enjoying boxing more than ever. He feels comfortable.
"When you look at the big fights to be made, there's huge opportunities out there in the heavyweight division. We've seen [that] over the last eighteen months.
"He's won his first title, which I didn't realise was his first title against Johnny Fisher. So there's big opportunities for him. Obviously Johnny Fisher will rebuild.
"He's just 26 years old, and I think he's still got such a big future ahead of him. But for Dave Allen, there's big nights to come and I'm excited about what those nights are."
