Edgar Berlanga threatens to 'smack' boxing legend at press conference

Edgar Berlanga will be looking to resurrect his feud with Oscar De La Hoya at today's final press conference for his super middleweight fight with Hamzah Sheeraz. 

Berlanga and Sheeraz will meet on Saturday night, live on DAZN PPV, at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in a contest which could place the winner in contention to face the current undisputed super middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. 

But before facing Sheeraz, Berlanga is hoping to get one over De La Hoya and he sent the following message to the 'Golden Boy' following Wednesday's open workout. 

"F—k Oscar De La Hoya, f—k you," Berlanga said.

"I’m going to see you tomorrow, we’re going to smack the s—t out of you tomorrow."

Berlanga and De La Hoya's feud began last year when the latter labelled Berlanga's fight with Alvarez a "snooze fest".

In addition to keeping an eye on Berlanga, De La Hoya will also be supporting a fighter from his Golden Boy Promotions stable, William Zepeda, who will be challenging for his first world title at Ring III against WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson.
