Two of the greatest to ever do it may be running it back next year.

According to The Ring's Mike Coppinger, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are exploring the possibility of a rematch between the two fighters in 2026.

The duo stepped into the ring together in 2015 for a record-setting bout years in the making. On that night, Mayweather claimed a unanimous decision in (118–110, 116–112, 116–112) to retain the WBA, WBC, and The Ring welterweight titles and win the WBO title from Pacquiao, but the real numbers came from outside the ring as the event shattered records for the gate and PPV buys.

Despite the massive success, the fighters then went their separate ways and never crossed paths again — but that may end next year.

Mayweather officially retired in 2017 when he defeated Conor McGregor to raise his professional record to 50-0, but the now 48-year-old has stepped into the ring for eight exhibition fights since then, with his 2021 bout against Logan Paul being the most notable.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao remained active as a pro boxer and also served as a senator of the Philippines from 2016 to 2022, with his political ambitions also leading to him unsuccessfully running for president of his native country in 2022. The now 46-year-old most recently fought Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title in August of this year after a four-year hiatus from the ring, with the bout ending in a draw.

No date or venue for a potential Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch has emerged yet.
