Shane Mosley enjoyed a stellar career as he won multiple world titles across several weight divisions at his peak.

The California fighter is one of the bess fighters of the modern era and his ledger features some of the biggest names boxing has ever seen.

As a dominant lightweight, Mosley soared to the business end of the pound-for-pound rankings after ruling 135lbs with routine ease as he dispatched many worthy challengers.

It was in 2000 that Mosley became one of boxing’s must-see attractions though when he moved to welterweight to take on Oscar De La Hoya in Los Angeles.

The pair delivered a classic encounter, and it was Mosley who got the nod via split decision in what would be the best win of his career.

Losing twice to Vernon Forrest in 2002 derailed Mosley’s momentum, and despite scoring another win over De La Hoya the following year, two defeats to Ronald ‘Winky’ Wright saw Mosley give up ground at super-welterweight.

Mosley would continue fighting until 2016 and he would endure further defeats against major names including Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, and Manny Pacquiao.

After 61 fights, a vast portion of them at world title level, who does Mosley consider to be the strongest fighter he ever stepped in a ring with?

"Winky didn’t have punching power, but he was physically very strong,” said Mosley when speaking to The Ring.

"He was the strongest I faced.”
