Frank Warren has called for "more consistency" from judges as the fallout from Joshua Buatsi's controversial victory over Zach Parker rumbles on.

The Rio 2016 medalist bounced back from a first professional defeat against Callum Smith to take a majority decision at Manchester's Co-op Live.

But after a Saturday night bout where Parker appeared on top for long periods, the scorecards prompted furious responses from the star and the crowd.

Now Queensberry Promotions boss Warren, who put on the card, has suggested the British Boxing Board of Control needs to look into improvements.

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2

"We had a fantastic night of boxing in Manchester on Saturday," he told Sky Sports News. "[There were] some real quality match-ups that delivered.

"Some of the scorecards though have created headlines and that's not fair on the fighters. We really need more consistency from the judges.

"[We need] to stop these things happening. The BBBofC does a great job but they need to look at it. Zach Parker is clearly upset

"He felt he won the fight. "He has been with myself and Queensberry a long time and is a great kid. We're going to make sure we look after him."

Though Buatsi outworked Parker in punches thrown, the Derbyshire fighter landed more in both raw figures and on a percentage basis in their clash.

However, frequent clinches instigated by the latter saw him often tumble to the canvas as the fight wore on, with such scrappiness likely counted against him.

With the winner in the mix for a shot at the winner of David Benavidez and Anthony Yarde's WBC light-heavyweight title fight, the star was left distraught.

BBBofC general secretary Robert Smith pushed back on criticisms however, highlighting a diverse international makeup for those on the scorecards.

"The judges' scores were consistent," he added on the matter. "We had two overseas judges and one [from the] UK. There was a lot of holding."

Buatsi was not the only one to take a contentious call from ringside, with Liam Cameron's victory over Troy Jones also subject to intense scrutiny.

The former won by unanimous decision, despite seemingly being outworked and outfought for long passages of his clash with the Birmingham fighter.
