Gabriela Fundora’s jab has range as she could use her reach advantage as a fully-extended stick or she could shorten up the shot by throwing it from a bent elbow.

Either way this peppering with the jab tends to wear on opponents as Fundora is able to score points and bank rounds in the process.

Fundora will most certainly introduce Alexas Kubicki to this weapon early and often.

Like her brother ‘The Towering Inferno’ Sebastian Fundora, the WBC super welterweight world titleholder, Gabriela has a vicious inside fighting game.

The undisputed queen of flyweight is going to force opponents to pick their poison. If they stay on the outside with her, Fundora will poke and prod away with the jab.

If they force their way inside, ‘Sweet Poison’ has a nasty bag to dip into in the pocket where she’s capable of blasting foes with compact hooks, pulverizing overhand shots and slicing uppercuts.

With the shorter Kubicki needing to get inside of Fundora’s jab, the champ could very well introduce her to this blitz in the phone booth.

During their press conference, Kubicki confidently predicted that she will walk out of Indio, California as the new undisputed flyweight world champion.

Well, let’s see if that confidence could withstand the deluge of punches that Fundora is known for generating.

Fundora is going to drive her punch count way up, dictating the fight and imposing her will on Kubicki who has never faced competition even remotely close to the champ.

Overwhelming the challenger with a high output should be Fundora’s biggest key to victory in keeping her undisputed crown with a resounding win.

Get inside of Fundora’s jab

It is easier said than done but Alexas Kubicki is going to have to figure out how to manufacture her way inside of Gabriela Fundora’s 5-foot-8 frame and 67 inches of reach.

Changing levels to touch the champ’s body could be one method. Another might be movement and sheer will.

This must be done with caution, though, as Fundora could very well make Kubicki eat punches for her efforts in getting closer.

Take measured chances on the inside

Perhaps the biggest key of all for Kubicki is to take measured chances on the inside against Fundora.

Just managing to get inside could leave Kubicki vulnerable to some fierce punches from Fundora but this fight cannot be won from the outside for the challenger.

If successful maneuvering her way inside, Kubicki must make her opportunities count with pointed shots. This means scoring with deliberate, compact shots.

Do not get too erratic

As aforementioned, when trying to get inside, Kubicki could be subjected to a heavy flow of punches. But she must maintain her composure.

Get too erratic and open with her shots and Fundora will pick her apart with stinging counterpunches or by knocking her out, altogether.

Not getting frustrated against a fighter with the dimensions of Fundora might not be possible, but channeling that anger to fuel her drive is something Kubicki must manage.
