George Liddard credited "the law of attraction" as he ensured his own destiny as British and Commonwealth champion against Kieron Conway.
The star secured a tenth-round stoppage to become the new Lonsdale Belt holder at middleweight, ending his rival's reign atop the division.
Liddard outworked Conway across the majority of the fight, and dropped his injured foe in the ninth before the towel was subsequently thrown in.
Speaking afterwards, the star - who also paid tribute to his rival, and to his own trainer Tony Sims - reflected on backing up his own hype in the ring.
"I said that by the end of this year, I'd be a British and Commonwealth champion," he said in the ring afterwards.
"It just goes to show the law of attraction. I felt I had the sharper hands, the sharper feet. All credit to Kieron, he's a seasoned fighter.
"I knew it was going to be tough, I knew I was going to have to box well. We got the job done. I didn't want to win that way.
"Respect to him, but I'm the youngest British middleweight champion. We're fighters. You go out for the kill, you get the win. I had to put the pressure on.
