The opponent has changed as Maricela Cornejo has replaced Hanna Gabriels, but the ambition for Claressa Shields remains the same.
Shields (13-0-0, 2 KOs) returns to her home state of Michigan this Saturday and hopes to retain her unified women's middleweight title against No. 1 ranked contender "La Diva" Cornejo. The bout was made after original opponent, Gabriels, was removed from the card based on the results of a VADA test done earlier this month.
Regardless, the "GWOAT" (Greatest Woman Of All Time) now needs to get ready to take on Cornejo (16-5-0, 6 KOs), the 36-year-old who won her last three fights to take her to the top of the WBC, WBO and IBF contenders rankings.
