Jack Catterall knows he was not at his best in February when he faced Arnold Barboza Jr for the WBO interim light welterweight title.

On that day, Catterall battled Barboza for 12 rounds before losing by split decision in his second world title bout. Like the first time he fought for a world title — back in 2022 against then-undisputed champion Josh Taylor — Catterall vows to come back from his latest loss with a renewed vigour.

The 31-year-old followed up his 2022 defeat to Taylor with four straight victories, including one over Taylor himself in 2024. Catterall faces Harlem Eubank this Saturday live on DAZN, and he has pledged to erase the memories of his "stinker" against Barboza with a good showing this weekend against the undefeated cousin of Chris Eubank Jr.

“We could have come back and chosen a different route, but these are the fights that excite me, the domestic clashes, and this is what I am here for," Catterall said at a press conference on Thursday.

"Harlem is undefeated, talented, and he’s going to come with everything. A few years ago, I was in his position, waiting for that opportunity and chomping at the bit, so this is his opportunity, but I am here to prove I’ve still got it.

“I’ve worked so hard up to this point, we had a stinker in the last fight, but I’ve doubled down, been training hard and I believe I am levels above him. I’m very confident, if he thinks he can come and knock me out he’s got a big problem in front of him and it’s going to end badly for him.”
