Watch Catterall vs Eubank SATURDAY on DAZN

Jack Catterall insists he is levels above Harrlem Eubank and wants to prove it toward putting himself back into title contention.

The undefeated Eubank has been working diligently on his craft and believes his time is now.

They will find a resolution Saturday night when Catterall clashes with Eubank in a welterweight tilt at AO Arena in Manchester, England, and live on DAZN .

Catterall (30-2, 13 KOs) is coming off a costly split-decision loss to Arnold Barboza Jr. for the WBO interim super lightweight world title in February and cannot afford another disappointing setback.

Eubank (21-0, 9 KOs) touts a pristine ledger, having last disposed of Tyrone McKenna in 10 rounds via TKO in March.

Will Catterall bounce back and put himself right back into the title hunt? Or will Eubank put the spotlight on his own brand of sweet science skills with his biggest win to date?

With the anticipation building, I've    analyzed the keys to victory, breaking down the tactics needed for each fighter to be successful this weekend.

Jack Catterall’s Keys to Victory

Hit Eubank early

During the press conference Thursday, Jack Catterall and his team made it clear that they believe he is levels above Harlem Eubank.

Well, he could start to prove that by showing he can hit Eubank early and better yet at will.

Eubank is a slick fighter defensively so Catterall’s ability to connect early will go long ways toward having the Chorley man brimming with confidence.

Time the left hook in traffic

Catterall loads up and sits on his left hook effectively.

Having the weapon cocked back and ready to fire against a fidgety Eubank is a key because Catterall can unload on the shot within the flow of his offense or catch an unsuspecting Eubank slipping as a stinging counterpunch.

Let hands go a bit more

In his loss to Arnold Barboza Jr., Catterall simply did not let go of his hands enough and judges subsequently credited the volume punching of the former toward an split-decision upset.

Learning from that disappointing performance, Catterall must produce a higher volume of punches all within the framework of not losing who he is as a pointed sharpshooter.

At times that could mean, hitting Eubank’s arms just to establish contact. In other sequences, it will spell splitting the guard with something more impactful.

Overall, he should be willing to let his hands fly.

Be the slick fighter he is defensively

Watch Harlem Eubank fight and it is a regular sight for the British fighter to work behind the Philly Shell.

Doing this effectively allows Eubank to be the slick, elusive fighter he is on the defensive side, giving him the protection to counterpunch and even pressure as a result.

Feint, use fidgety movement to catch Catterall off balance

With fidgety movement and the ability to feint well, Eubank manufactures plenty of his shots just based on his unrelenting motor.

Against a Catterall who is often content patiently waiting for the right shot, Eubank’s movement and feints could catch the former two-time title challenger off balance.

That makes for all the more reason he has to use them in tandem.

Tee off in cramped quarters

As Eubank closes in on real estate and steps into the phone booth with opponents, he does an excellent job at launching short body shots in the clinch or wrapping compact hooks around their guards.

This could be vital in racking up points against Catterall and a strategy Eubank could use to dictate the pace and flow of this fight to victory.
