Most Valuable Promotions confirm Gervonta Davis investigation as Jake Paul bout hangs in the balance

Most Valuable Promotions has confirmed an investigation into charges filed against Gervonta 'Tank' Davis as the star's clash with Jake Paul hangs in the balance.

The WBA lightweight champion has been accused of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping, among others, by ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel.

Davis is currently slated to fight Paul in an exhibition bout in Florida in just under a fortnight, with 'The Problem Child' seeking his biggest win against an active star.

Now, their bout appears in doubt, with MVP confirming they are responding to the charges ahead of a decision on their subsequent move.

"Most Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30th, 2025," read an official statement.

"At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted.

"We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved.

"We will make a determination on next steps once we have completed our review and consulted with the appropriate parties. Until then, we will not be commenting further."
