Joey Essex lived up to his family's boxing lineage as he took a majority decision victory in his first professional bout against Numeiro at Misfits 22 - Ring of Thrones on Saturday.

The former The Only Way is Essex star sent shockwaves through the sport when it was announced he would fight on the undercard at Manchester's AO Arena this August.

Yet under the guidance of his dad Peter and uncle Tony Sims, one of Britain's foremost cornermen, the star recorded a win at the first opportunity over four rounds this weekend.
