Michael Conlan has assured supporters that his bout with Kevin Walsh is 'just another fight' ahead of tonight's Belfast clash.

The star enjoys home advantage against the American in a fascinating featherweight encounter live from the SSE Arena.

Conlan, a onetime Olympic hero, has struggled to translate amateur glory to pro-title success, faces crunch time here.

But as he makes his final preparations, the star is determined to keep himself grounded on the nature of the occasion.

"It's just another fight," he said at the weigh-in. "Kevin's a good fighter, a good guy. I'm relaxed, I'm looking forward to it.

"I'm going up there and putting on a show. Nothing else matters but getting the victory, and I believe that I will do it in style.

"Whether a knockout or a submission, it'll be a masterclass. The goal is to be world champion. There's potential off this.

"But I'm not looking past this. I'm focused on it. It's always good support. In Belfast, it's fantastic. The real Irishman will win."

Conlan eager to stay the course

DAZN News correspondent Andrew Steel

Michael Conlan is a man of few words, but when he promises a masterclass, his fans tend to prick up their ears in hope.

That is is arguably more so than expectation speaks to the frustrations the now-veteran star has faced in his title pursuits.

Defeat to Kevin Walsh here may spell the end of any further challenger hopes, making this bout critical to his ambitions.

Conlan seems eager to shut out the noise of expectation however, and understandably wants this as a bout and no more.

Yet if it is to be a referendum on his future near the featherweight summit, he will have to pull out all the stops - it's do-or-die time.
