Nigel Benn knows what it takes to partake in fights on a huge scale after sharing the ring with many high-profile operators.

At his peak, Benn, alongside his great rival, Chris Eubank, was a mainstream celebrity capable of occupying media time on many notable platforms.

Their legendary battels were big business, and the country would come to a standstill wherever they were set to fight.

Over 30 years later, the rivalry has been passed down to their children with Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr about to do battle on April 26, live on DAZN

The eagerly anticipated encounter was set to take place over two years ago, but an adverse finding in Benn’s drug test cancelled that fight and has served to only intensified the feud.

With the bout fast approaching, reflections from the original Eubank versus Benn battles are certain to be touched on in the coming months and Benn Sr has already started.

Benn was defeated by Eubank in 1990 before being held to a draw by the same fighter three years later

Looking back on those occasions, Benn has revealed how the fight would perform commercially today, and he is adamant it would remain a financial blockbuster.

“We had about 18.5 million watching in the UK. Can you imagine if we were on pay-per-view? Nearly half a billion around the world," said Benn when speaking with Vision4Sport, where premium tickets for the fight are available for purchase on their website.

“It was just big because of what me and Chris did. You can’t really compare it. It was a whole different atmosphere. But a lot of people are coming to see this fight because of the rivalry we had. People will just turn up to see where it’s going to go.”
