Pacquiao returns to action for the first time in four years and jumps straight into a huge clash that could restore him to the top of the tree with a shot at a strap.
During his prime years, the star was one of the best boxers in the world and his legacy in the sport is widely respected.
In 2015, Pacquiao was defeated by Mayweather's nephew Floyd in one of boxing’s biggest-ever bouts, as the pair finally settled their lengthy rivalry.
For close to a decade, the two were consistently linked to a fight as they blitzed past numerous common opponents including Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, and Miguel Cotto.
When the fight finally happened, years after it should have taken place, Mayweather’s qualities were able to largely frustrate Pacquaio, and the American won on the scorecards.
The pair have regularly been speculated to be facing each other in a rematch, but with Floyd inactive in a professional capacity since 2017, that now appears to be a non-starter.
Despite that, the Mayweather family have still had their say on their old rival, and Jeff believes he can be victorious when he faces Barrios next month.
"You know, Manny’s Manny Pacquiao, so he can come back and do, you know,” said Mayweather when speaking to FightHype .
“I mean, it’s a money-grab. I don’t know if he needs money or not. I think that whether he needs money or not, he just wants to continue to add to his legacy. I think Manny’s gonna win, [convincingly] yes.”
