Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he will return to the world of boxing on July 19.
Rumours have gathered pace in recent weeks that the eight-weight world champion was set to end a near four-year retirement with a clash against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.
Now a post by Pacquiao on X has not only confirmed the date and opponent, but also where his fight with Barrios will take place.
The following caption accompanied a picture of the fight poster.
"I'm back," Pacquiao wrote.
"On July 19, I return to the ring to face WBC welterweight champion Marrio Barrios at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"Let's make history!"
Pacquiao's boxing comeback is likely to attract plenty of criticism due to the 16-year age gap between the Filipino and Barrios.
This WBC welterweight title fight will be the second defence made by Barrios who drew his first outing as champion against Abel Ramos in November.
