Pat Brown is an "absolute diamond" who will go all the way at cruiserweight, with Eddie Hearn hailing his "phenomenal" star after victory over Felix Valera.

The Mancunian needed just two rounds in his stateside debut in Orlando to dispatch the Cuban, dropping him three times on the way to a knockout win.

A Paris 2024 contender, Brown has frequently been tipped by Matchroom boss Hearn as a future contender, and still has plenty of years left in the tank.

Speaking in the wake of his latest victory, the promoter further lavished praise upon his fighter, and predicted global glory for him in the coming years.

"He's just phenomenal," he said in the ring afterwards. "In his fifth fight, to go through a guy like Valera, an ex-world champion [is remarkable].

"We saw him last time out against Tristan Kalkreuth, who is a very good fighter, [but] Pat does the same thing every time.

"For the first round, he comes out and he measures and measures. Tonight, for me, he's Manchester's Rocky Manciano. He's going to go all the way.

"This kid is such a massive problem for every cruiserweight in the world. Forget Britain. He's nice and calm. He knows we're going to take it slow.

"But we know we've got this absolute diamond on our hands in Pat Brown, a guy who is going to light up British boxing.

"Tonight, he made his US debut in his fifth fight. That's when you know you're special, when you come out and produce a performance like that."
