Former British cruiserweight champion Richard Riakporhe has been added to the undercard of Canelo Alvarez's bout with William Scull this Saturday on DAZN Pay-Per-View .
'The Midnight Train', a former WBO cruiserweight world title challenger, was due to fight for the first time since June as part of Queensberry's Heavy Impact bill in April.
Now however, he will make his return to the ring against Kevin Nicolas Espindola in an eight-round heavyweight contest at Riyadh's ANB Arena in Saudi Arabia on May 3.
Riakporhe, who made his professional debut in 2016, has amassed a 17-1 professional record, with 13 knockout victories, across a nine-year career thus far.
However, he was convincingly outpointed in a rematch with Chris Billam-Smith last year at London's Selhurst Park, as he sought to take the latter's WBO crown.
The two had previously met at London's The O2 Arena in 2019, when Riakporhe had inflicted the first defeat of his rival's career upon him in turn by split decision.
He has been due to face ex-WBO champion Lawrence Okolie for his comeback bout in April, but now heads to the Middle East looking to get his career back on track.
Canelo meanwhile headlines a spectacular night of action as he bids to become a two-time undisputed super-middleweight champion, chasing his old IBF crown held by Scull.
