Ryan Garcia had a bird's eye view of Gervonta Davis' sixth-round stoppage win over Rolly Romero on Saturday from Barclays Center. Seeing Davis' performance got him chomping at the bit to get him inside the ring and threw down a challenge to the fellow lightweight star.

Before Romero, Davis fought two times in 2021, stopping Mario Barrios and beating Isaac Cruz by unanimous decision.
Meanwhile, Garcia returned from a 15-month layoff in April, defeating Emmanuel Tagoe by unanimous decision. Garcia says he's returning on July 16, but nothing has been formally announced on if he'll be fighting and who the opponent would be.
