Former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson is confident that his attributes already give him an advantage ahead of his Misfits Boxing debut.
Taking place tonight at Manchester's AO Arena, and broadcast live on DAZN PPV, Ferguson will be facing social media star Salt Papi at Misfits 22: Ring of Thrones.
This will be the first time Ferguson will be stepping into the boxing ring after making a name for himself in the world of mixed martial arts and the UFC.
Salt Papi may be someone who has made a name for himself on TikTok, but in Misfits Boxing, he has become known for his explosive knockout power.
With five knockout wins on his 6-2 record, Salt Papi will fancy his chances against Ferguson, but the American believes one factor will make the difference this evening when the pair go head-to-head.
"Tenacity, I’m not an influencer, this is what I do," Ferguson told DAZN when asked what makes him better than this upcoming opponent.
"I don’t give a f—k about statements; I think everybody looks too much into it.
"When they are scrolling, they are looking for a reason to believe, rather than just having that faith and going in there and doing the s—t.
"I don’t have a bunch of fans that are f—g awkward and make it that way for me."
Ferguson-Salt Papi features on a stacked Misfits Boxing card which will see Darren Till and former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold clash in the main event.
Watch Darren Till vs Luke Rockhold, Tony Ferguson vs Salt Papi and Dillon Danis, Joey Essex and more fight only on DAZN PPV this Saturday night, August 31.
