John Fury believes it is the right time for Daniel Dubois to face Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title rematch.
Dubois and Usyk will meet on July 19, exclusively live on DAZN at Wembley Stadium, in a rematch of their 2023 contest in Poland.
Uysk managed to stop Dubois in the ninth round first time around despite being on the wrong end of a controversial 'low blow', but a lot has changed since that night in Wroclaw.
Dubois has undergone a successful rebuild which has seen him crowned IBF heavyweight champion, while Usyk has been involved in two thrilling fights with Tyson which the Ukrainian won.
John Fury, Tyson's father, spoke to Seconds Out about this particular encounter and he expects Dubois to thrive against an ageing Usyk.
"Good luck to Oleksandr Usyk, but again, he’s going to go on too long. I just see Daniel Dubois becoming a multi-belt champion. Because how many fights have you got in you?" Fury said.
"You come up from cruiserweight to heavyweight, you’ve got these big men banging away at you. He’s only got to walk into one.
"He’s every chance. The man’s 38, 39 years old. Dubois is a big banger and he’s on a roll. Excellent fight with Anthony Joshua. AJ hurt him. It was touch and go that fight until he landed that shot, because I actually thought when AJ rushed in to get him he hurt him.
"He’s got this KO power. If he gets it home this time on Usyk, who’s had the tank emptied twice by the Gypsy King, how much has he got left? Is it the right time for Dubois? I think it is. My money’s going on him.”
Watch Usyk vs. Dubois 2 exclusively live on DAZN PPV, Saturday, July 19.
