Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that he will not be playing at this year's FIFA Club World Cup which will be available for free on DAZN.

Ronaldo's deal with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr is set to come to an end in June and rumours were rife that the Portuguese international could make a transfer to a side competing in the tournament.

The tournament is set to get underway on June 14 which resulted in FIFA giving nations the option for an extra transfer window between June 1 and June 10 along with a mid-tournament registration window at the end of the month.

The prospect of Ronaldo appearing in the United States this summer was heightened after FIFA president Gianni Infantino alluded that Ronaldo "might play" in an interview with YouTuber IShowSpeed in May

Speaking on Saturday ahead of Portugal's clash with Spain in the Nations League final, Ronaldo revealed that he had received plenty of offers from teams competing at the Club World Cup, but instead opted against competing.

“There have been a lot of conversations, but there are certain things that I see as making sense and not making sense,” Ronaldo said.

“You can’t go to everything, you have to think short, medium and long term. I’ve pretty much made up my mind not to go to the Club World Cup, but I’ve had plenty of offers.”

While Ronaldo may not be playing at this year's Club World Cup, Lionel Messi will be participating with Inter Miami.

The Florida based team are involved in the tournament's opening game on June 14 when they face Egypt's Al Ahly FC at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.
