When did MetLife Stadium open?

MetLife Stadium opened on April 10, 2010, a decade-and-a-half ago following a three-year construction process, having originally broken ground in 2007.

Designed as a replacement for Giants Stadium, it was built on adjacent land to the latter, which was shortly demolished following its final season of activity in 2009.

The project cost a then-$1.6 billion to finance and complete, and was originally intended to be the host stadium for New York's failed bid for the 2012 Olympic Games.
