Havertz was one of several high-profile signings this summer.

Arsenal’s Invincible defender Lauren has disagreed with another former Gunner, Jermaine Pennant, over the future for Kai Havertz at the Emirates.

Havertz arrived from Chelsea in the summer and has not scored for his new side yet, and Pennant suggested that players such as Emile Smith Rowe would be a better long-term option for Mikel Arteta.

The German never nailed down his role at Chelsea under a few managers, but Lauren thinks his talent guarantees he will eventually come good.

“Kai Havertz is a top player, and top players at some point always perform, so I have no doubts about him,” Lauren told safebettingsites.com. “He’s a great player but sometimes new signings just need some time to settle and adapt to the new system. Some players take more time than others.

“But Havertz has played for Germany, Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea at the highest level. This is not by chance. So he will go on to perform well for Arsenal and be a successful signing, I have no doubts about this. He’ll go on to be a key player for the club.

“There’s many games this season, Arsenal are playing in four competitions, so there’s going to be plenty of opportunities for his quality to shine. He’s one of the most talented players Arsenal have in their squad and we’ll see that soon.”
