In over ten years at PSG, Marquinhos has pretty much seen it all during in time in the French capital.

The Brazilian joined in 2013 and has since gone on to become the Parisian's record appearance maker, winning ten league titles with the club and finally lifting the Champions League earlier this year.

Tonight, he gets the chance to add yet more silverware to his legendary PSG CV as he leads out his side in the FIFA Club World Cup final against Chelsea at MetLife Stadium.

It is the chance for the defender to revisit a rivalry with the Premier League club, with whom he's endured many battles over the years, but the 31-year-old is just excited about the next chapter in their rivalry and PSG's epic season.

"Yes, all the matches. It's true that it's a different story," he told the media ahead of the competition's showpiece.

"Every match has its own story. But this club, it's true that there are some. We've had a few confrontations, some good and some bad, and that's part of our history.

"It's also part of its history. And we've brought back this desire to change things and win this match today. And I think this is a great opportunity for us. We've worked so hard to get this far, to have this opportunity to win this trophy.

"It's a trophy every three years and every four years, so you can imagine what an honour it is. And that's what we've got in our heads and in our mentality to prepare well for this match and play a great match.

"Because if we manage to win this title, it's going to be really, really great. And we'll always keep it in our memories and in our hearts."

The game comes just weeks after PSG demolished Inter Milan to become European champions for the first time in their history, and after that triumph, Marquinhos memorably told reporters he 'gave it his all'.

Now, he goes again as he looks to make history once again and be the first captain to lift the trophy of this newly revamped Club World Cup.

Adding, "I said I gave it my all because that's what happened afterwards. After the match, we were really emotional, we were tired, we'd really given everything to win this title.

"We'd prepared really well and that was that. Afterwards, when you've won straight away, you're already looking forward. We celebrated. We don't have much time to celebrate.

"Today, we're here. We have a coach and a club that are really pushing us forward, to continue to make history. And I think that's what this end shows the team.

"It's the end of making history and winning everything, giving everything on the pitch. And that's why that phrase came out at the end of the match."
