The rest of us may have stopped for the festive break, but in Serie A, normal service resumed and produced a weekend where the top three really made their mark.

Serie A on DAZN

Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (Napoli)

Savic continues to be one of the league’s most consistent keepers and was once again at his best against Cremonese.
The Napoli stopper earned another clean sheet and was on hand to keep out any of the home side’s threat.

Pierre Kalulu (Juventus)

The defender opened the scoring for Juve in the 2-0 win over Pisa that continued Juve’s rise into the European mix.
The goal topped off a standout performance from Kalulu in the Old Lady’s back three.

Tarik Muharemovic (Sassuolo)

The centre-back continues to impress in defence and was on hand at the other end for Sassuolo in their draw with Bologna.
It was the Bosnia and Herzegovinan's second goal of the season.

Nadir Zortea (Bolonga)

In tight games, you need your full-backs to become an added weapon in attack, and that’s exactly what Zortea did against Sassuolo.
It was his assist that set up Fabbian for Bologna’s goal in the 1-1 draw.

Manuel Akanji (Inter)

Part of the defence that kept Atalanta out in Inter’s 1-0 win at the New Balance Stadium.
The Swiss centre-back is really becoming a big player for Christian Chivu’s side.

Nemanja Matic (Sassuolo)

The former Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder put in a Player of the Match display in Sassuolo’s credible draw with Bolonga.
He used all his big-game experience to help secure the point and continue his side’s decent first half of the campaign.

Oliver Sorensen (Parma)

Parma fans haven’t had too much to shout about this season, but got a vital win over Fiorentina on Saturday.
The man to thank? This Swede was the side’s matchwinner in a standout performance.

Nico Paz (Como)

One of Serie A’s stars of the season so far, he continued to show why against Lecce.
The Argentinian scored one and assisted another in the 3-0 win to remain the player with the most goal contributions in the league.

A proper striker’s performance from the Danish hitman in Napoli’s win over Cremonese.
Hojlund scored both goals in the 2-0 win, helping the champions maintain their pace at the top.

Christopher Nkunku (Milan)

The on-loan forward produced his best performance in a Milan shirt as his side made light work of Hellas Verona.
The Frenchman netted his first two Serie A goals in the 3-0 victory, including a coolly slotted spot kick.

Lautaro Martinez (Inter)

The difference maker once again for Inter, in a tightly fought contest with Atalanta.
Serie A’s leading goalscorer took advantage of one of the few openings to win the game and keep his side top of the pile.
