WATCH: Joao Pedro scores first Chelsea goal in spectacular style

Talk about making a good first impression.

Chelsea's newest signing, Joao Pedro, made a big impact in his first start for the Blues with an absolute stunner of a goal in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals.

The 23-year-old officially joined the London side last week in a £55 million move from Brighton, and the Brazilian didn't wait long to show why his signature is so valuable as he opened the scoring in Tuesday's match in spectacular fashion.

With fellow Chelsea newcomer Liam Delap suspended, Pedro took full advantage of the opportunity when, in the 18th minute, he collected the ball at the top of the Fluminense box, took one step forward and unleashed a venomous curling effort that goalkeeper Fabio had no chance of saving.

Pedro's celebration was muted however, as the goal came against the team who gave him his start as a professional.
