Amir Khan names the fighter he thinks can get revenge against Anthony Joshua
Amir Khan has given his backing to Joseph Parker if he was to land a huge rematch with Anthony Joshua at some point.
In 2018, Parker became the first person to win take Joshua the distance, but he was beaten on te scorecards and lost his world title.
In recent years, Parker has rebuilt his career impressively following further defeats after Joshua and last month, he was set to challenge Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title.
That bout was called off at the last minute when Dubois was forced to pull out through illness , and it is not guaranteed that the contest will be rescheduled.
Parker instead faced martin Bakole and he registered an impressive stoppage over the late substitute to keep his world title ambitions alive.
If a contest with Dubois cannot be secured, then one possible option for Parker is a second meeting with Joshua sometime in 2025.
Amir Khan, one of boxing’s most exciting fighters of the modern era, has been impressed with Parker’s upturn in form and thinks he has what ot takes to get past Joshua.
It’s a massive fight with AJ because he is such a bigger name and then the Daniel Dubois fight will still be there,” said Khan when speaking to Gambleonline.net.
“But from a business point of view, he should take the Dubois fight so he can win a title, and Dubois beat AJ as well so that would be a bigger fight in my opinion.
“I think Parker would be favourite because he’s had some good wins so I think he would be the favourite if he fought AJ.”
