Anthony Joshua has confirmed that he will be back in the ring this December, but who will the Watford man be facing?

In recent times, Joshua has been one of boxing’s busiest operators as he put his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk behind him by going back to basics and staying active.

That run of fights was brutally ended last September when he ran into Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium trying to become world champion for a third time

Instead, Joshua was dropped four times before being stopped in the fifth session of a brutal encounter.

The attention immediately switched to a showdown with Tyson Fury, but those plans were up in the air at the start of 2025 when Fury shockingly announced his retirement after a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk last December.

Despite his claims he is finished with boxing, some within the sport still believe Fury will fight again and that could mean a long-awaited showdown with Joshua will finally take place.

Fury is one of many targets that Joshua is focusing on for his eventual comeback, and in a recent interview, he revealed several names who could be in the opposite corner when he puts his gloves back on.

“Potential fight with Fury, hopefully that happens. I think the industry should not be left without it. Those interested should be able to witness it,” said Joshua when speaking to Boxnation

“I think a potential flight with [Martin] Bakole, [Agit] Kabayel. Who else is there, [Deontay] Wilder?”
