Two-weight world champion Danny Garcia has plenty of praise for Matchroom's Eddie Hearn when it comes to promoting the fighters in his stable.Â
Since going global, Matchroom has acquired some of boxing's most exciting stars and one of those was in operation last weekend in Philadelphia.Â
Making his debut at super welterweight, former unified welterweight world champion Jaron 'Boots' Ennis wasted no time in announcing himself at 154lbs with a destructive first round knockout against Uisma Lima.Â
As celebrations began inside the ring at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, Hearn was straight on the microphone, calling out Vergil Ortiz and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya for an epic all-American showdown.Â
Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, Garcia explained why Hearn often stands out in a competitive space and is a major help to fighters when it comes to creating a buzz around their performances in the ring.Â
"He loves his fighters, he’s into it," Garcia said.
"Eddie understands social media, he understands the aftershock. He knows what to say and how to promote his fighter.
"You need somebody pushing you, threading the needle for you."
Garcia was speaking ahead of his fight on Saturday night when he takes on Daniel Gonzalez in a super welterweight contest.Â
Labelled 'Farewell to Brooklyn', there are some who believe that this maybe Garcia's final fight before retirement as he headlines the Barclays Center for the tenth time in his career.Â
Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley fight on Saturday, October 25, to become the WBO mandatory challenger to Oleksandr Usyk. Watch the fight and undercard live and exclusive on DAZN PPV.
