Fisher vs. Allen 2: Johnny Fisher drawing 'huge confidence' from first fight

Johnny Fisher knows he wasn't at his best when he first fought Dave Allen, but he expects to put on a better performance when the men meet in a rematch on Saturday, live worldwide on DAZN.

The 26-year-old Fisher suffered the first knockdown of his career when Allen connected with a shot that dropped him to the canvas midway through their first encounter, which took place last December. The "Romford Bull" was able to get back to his feet and deliver some punishment of his own as the fight ultimately went the 10-round distance, with Fisher earning a controversial split decision victory.

Now just days from their headline rematch, Fisher acknowledged that the fifth-round knockdown was a shock, but he admitted that he was hurt long before Allen caught him with his left hand.

And he said that if he finds himself at the other end of such an opportunity, it won't go well for his opponent.

"I’ve done 10 rounds in a position where I was a bit incapacitated really from the second round onwards and I got caught," Fisher said at the pre-fight press conference on Wednesday. "But I know that if I had someone in that position, they wouldn’t be getting to the tenth round.

"I know I can be in there, take those shots and come out firing in the final round. So, I can draw huge confidence from that, that I can be in that state and still come out swinging in the final round, it’s exciting.

"You add in the 12th man of the Romford Bull Army in the background as well, it’s going to be rocking in there."
