Johnny Fisher has warned he won't be "lulled" into a false sense of security against Dave Allen, who feels "like a young kid again" before their heavyweight rematch this May.

The two men, former sparring partners, went the distance in a slugfest on the undercard of Oleksandr Fury and Tyson Fury's second bout at Riyadh's Kingdom Arena in December.

There, Fisher prevailed with a split-decision victory on the scorecards, despite having been dropped halfway through the contest, with many feeling Allen should have won.

Now, the two will roll it back for The Inquest, live on DAZN at London's Copper Box Arena on Saturday May 17, and the former stresses he will not miss this time around.

"I was nicey-nice in the build-up to the first one," he said. "I'm always going to be respectful, I'm always going to be a sportsman. I can't be lulled into that this time.

"Last time, I was probably lulled into that a little bit. At the end of the day, it's two men trying to render each other unconscious. I've got to be fully switched on.

"Was I fully on that 110% mark? Subconsciously, probably not, and I paid the price. I won the fight, and yes, I believe I won the fight, but it was closer than I wanted it to be."

Allen, who admitted he had considered retirement before he went the distance with Fisher, meanwhile suggests he has a new lease of life on his career in the ring.

"I told him after the fight that I probably wouldn't do it again so soon," he added. "I don't think four or five months is enough to bridge the gap in him beating me comfortably.

"I'd not really had a proper fight for six years. As soon as I got back in the gym after the fight, I felt great. I feel almost young again.

"I feel ambitious, I feel like a different man. I feel like a young kid again, but this time I've got a brain. I'm really excited for it and I fully expect to win."
