2024 AFC playoff picture: Current standings

The race for the 2024-25 NFL postseason is over, and teams are locked in for the Play-Offs that lead to Super Bowl LIX.

Seven teams from the American Football Conference have risen above the rest of the pack and booked their spot - but now, it is sudden death football to survive.

Here is the final picture for the 2024-25 NFL Play-Offs in the AFC.

1. Kansas City Chiefs, 15-2

A Week 18 loss may have handed the incumbent Super Bowl champions just a second defeat of the term, but the AFC West leaders were still best-in-show by result.

2. Buffalo Bills, 13-4

Another team who enter the postseason on a losing note, the Bills still wrapped up the AFC East division with space to spare as they went down to the New England Patriots.

3. Baltimore Ravens, 12-5

The AFC North victors strung together four straight wins to end the campaign, and arrive with momentum at their back as they look to cause a splash in the Super Bowl race.

4. Houston Texans, 10-7

The lowest-scoring division champion, the AFC South victors benefitted from a soft number of domestic rivals this term to see themselves through to the postseason.

5. Los Angeles Chargers, 11-6

Posting a better record than the Texans but still second fiddle to the Chiefs, the Chargers must settle for a wild card berth despite their excellent record.

6. Pittsburgh Steelers, 10-7

One of the most dramatic late-season collapses in recent memory was not enough to sink the Steelers, as they just did enough to make the wild cards on four straight losses.

7. Denver Broncos, 10-7

A drubbing against the Chiefs in Week 18 did enough for the Broncos to ensure postseason football in Colorado once again, with a dominant and impressive display.
