Down 15 points with under 12 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, it looked like Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens were going to exact revenge on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in a rematch from their AFC Divisional Playoff matchup last postseason.

But that's when Allen, the reigning NFL MVP, mounted a furious rally over the former two-time MVP Jackson. Allen produced two of his four touchdowns, including Buffalo taking advantage of a Derrick Henry fumble, before Matt Prater kicked in a 32-yard, game-winning field goal to dramatically lead the Bills to a 41-40 home victory at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York on Sunday Night Football.

Allen finished with 394 yards passing and two touchdowns in the air, while rushing for 30 yards and another two TDs on the ground. Jackson aired it out for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 70 yards and another TD. Henry had 169 yards and two touchdowns rushing.

After surpassing NFL legend Jim Brown for sixth place all-time in rushing touchdowns earlier in the game, Jackson's second TD of the game — a 46-yard score — put the Ravens up 40-25 with 11:42 left in the fourth quarter.

Anyone who exited the Bills' Highmark Stadium to beat traffic at that point missed one of the most memorable comebacks as Allen first authored a 10-play, 80-yard drive ending in a 10-yard touchdown pass to Keon Coleman to pull the home team to within 40-32 with 3:20 left.

With the clock as their biggest enemy at that point, the Bills' defense desperately needed a stop and they got it by forcing a fumble on the usually sure-handed Jackson.

Back to work, Allen capped a four-play, 30-yard drive with a rushing TD to bring the Bills to within 40-38 following a failed two-point conversion.

Again, the Bills' defense came up big next, forcing a three and out on the Ravens' next possession.

Now, Allen had 86 seconds left to manufacture a game-winning drive.

Nine plays and 66 yards later, the 2024 MVP had done just that, setting up the successful Prater field goal.

The unbelievable comeback marked the first time in NFL history that a game finished with the score of 41-40 as Allen's Bills start their season 1-0, while the Ravens open 0-1 following the heartbreaking loss.
