NFL Week 18 Late Game Results: Bears lose to the Lions but still clinch No. 2 seed in NFC

The late slate of Sunday games is wrapped up, where you could have watched with NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. US and China).

There were games with playoff implications. Highlighting the slate was in Chicago as the Bears rallied from 16 points to tie the game, but the defense failed them for the second game in a row as Jake Bates kicked a 42-yard field goal to give the Detroit Lions the 19-16 victory.

Despite the loss, with the Washington Commanders beating the Philadelphia Eagles 24-17, the Bears clinched the No. 2 seed and will face the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round next weekend at Soldier Field. 

Down 16-0 heading into the fourth quarter, Caleb Williams turned it on in the fourth quarter with two touchdown throws to Jahdae Walker and Colston Loveland, along with two successful two-point conversions to even the score at 16. 

The Lions marched down the field, but Jared Goff was intercepted by Kevin Byard. This had all the makings of another Bears comeback. However, an intentional grounding call on Williams sent the Bears into a third-and-20. Williams completed a pass to Kyle Monangai, but was five yards short of the first down and were forced to punt and never got the ball back.
