Dave Allen has expressed an interest in facing former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, but only for a huge price tag.

Allen's stock has risen significantly after knocking out Johnny Fisher in the fifth round of their heavyweight rematch in May and is seemingly on the brink of a matchup with a huge name.

September is being rumoured as the return date for the 'White Rhino', and while an opponent has not been confirmed, there have been links to Parker who is waiting in the wings for a shot at the world heavyweight title.

Allen addressed these links in a video on his YouTube channel and he played down his chances of toppling the in-form man from New Zealand.

"I never asked to box Joseph Parker. They got in touch with Eddie about boxing me," Allen said.

"Secondly, do I reckon I could beat Joseph Parker? If I was going to be completely honest and transparent, not really, no.

"I have a puncher’s chance with anybody, but am I better than Joseph Parker, no.

"Could I win one in every 100 fights against him, if I hit him, I’d like to think so."

While Allen is not too confident of getting the win, there is one incentive which would tempt him into the ring, and that is the chance to earn one million pounds against one of the best in the heavyweight division.

"Would I box him for a million pounds? F—g right I would. I’d take my 99/1 chance for a million quid."

Parker is not the only former world champion Allen has been linked with, he has also been in consideration to face the hard-hitting and former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

'The Bronze Bomber' is set to return to action for the first time in 12 months on Friday night when he takes on Tyrrell Herndon in a bid to revive his boxing career.
