The former multiple weight world champion, one of boxing's best ever fighters, is the latest high profile boxing figure to have his say on the imminent bout.
The contest will see Paul take a massive leap in both size and experience as he competes at heavyweight against the former world champion and a fighter who is currently highly ranked.
Joshua, inactive since September 2024 when he was beaten by Daniel Dubois , is hoping to have a big 2026 and that means a long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury.
The heavy-handed Brit can only land such a fight if he is dominant against Paul, and Jones Jr, now a trainer and one of boxing’s most respected voices, believes that AJ can get the job done in style.
“Jake’s gonna fight a real fighter, and if the real fighter fights like a real fighter, then Jake’s gonna take a real nap,” said Jones Jr when discussing the fight with FightHype .
“AJ showed you against Ngannou he’s not one of these guys you just pick off the street and say I’m gonna fight AJ.
“Nah, AJ is an Olympian, AJ is a former world champion, AJ is a two-time world champion, AJ is nothing to play with. If you’re gonna fight AJ, have your mind right because if you can’t take it, he gonna find out."
