WBA super featherweight champion Lamont Roach Jr. feels disrespected by Gervonta 'Tank' Davis' decision to face Jake Paul

Roach and Davis clashed for the latter's WBA lightweight title in March with the bout being declared a majority draw after 12 rounds. This is a result which has been disputed with many believing Roach should have won the fight after the referee failed to call a knockdown in the ninth round.

After such a controversial encounter, a rematch was scheduled for August 16. However, Davis instead decided to go down a different path, swerving the rematch and landing a fight with Paul on November 14.

Paul-Davis is a matchup which has sparked a number of questions with the size and weight difference between the two being a major concern.

Appearing on Inside The Ring, Roach was given the chance to have his say on Davis' next fight and his decision to not honour the agreement made for August 14.

"I just feel disrespected on a business aspect; you don’t do business like that," Roach said.

"If I were to go to arbitration, then what? Then you’ve got to pay lawyer fees, or you put your promotional company in a hole where they have to back you because technically it’s on them."

When pressed as to whether he would pursue legal action against Davis, Roach gave the following response.

"No, we’re not going to arbitration because I’m very well taken care of."

While Davis prepares to face 'The Problem Child', Roach will face Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz in a super lightweight clash scheduled for December 6 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
