Nick Ball will have "everything on the line" when he faces Brandon Figueroa as the latter vows to overcome his foe's will.
The Liverpool fighter defends his WBA featherweight crown in a major homecoming at the M&S Bank Arena next month, live on DAZN.
Unbeaten across his professional career thus far, few fighters have managed to walk down Ball so far inside the ring.
But Figueroa believes he can conquer his opponent, explaining how he plans to grind down his gameplan and triumph.
“It's their will," he told The Ring. "It's the look in their eyes. I see that will in their eyes fade every round. That's what I love.
"Breaking hearts and their will. But you never count a man out, especially someone that has everything on the line for him.
"The pressure's on him and it's going to be an exciting fight because he's going to come with it. He's literally fighting in his city
"So the pressure's on him [to perform at his best]. A lot is riding for him on the line. I’ve just got to go in there and do my job.”
There are seemingly few worlds left to conquer at featherweight for Nick Ball, even as unification bouts elude the wily fighter.
But with designs on a mega-bout with Naoya Inoue, the question remains how much longer the Liverpool fighter remains here.
With the Japanese superstar in a different division and unwilling to move, Ball will have to change tracks to pursue him if so.
A showpiece showcase can only come with a statement win however - and Brandon Figueroa could spoil the party this time.
Having been pushed hard by Sam Goodman, Ball must hope all of Merseyside can power his will to overcome this next test.
