Tony Bellew names the 'monster' who will test Artur Beterbiev and it is not Dmitry Bivol or David Benavidez
Tony Bellew believes Jai Opetaia will be a stern test for Artur Beterbiev if the current undisputed light-heavyweight ruler makes the leap to cruiserweight.
On Saturday, live on DAZN Pay-Per-View, Beterbiev will return to Saudi Arabia as he looks to register another win against his great rival, Dmitry Bivol.
If he can repeat the result when they collide again, he will have numerous options in front of him and that could be a future meeting with Opetaia.
The Australian star has dominated the division in recent years, and he is currently being maneuvered towards a unification fight with Zurdo Ramirez.
Despite being linked to a move to heavyweight, one potential option could be welcoming Beterbiev from light-heavyweight.
Bellew, a big admirer of both Betebiev and Opetaia, has offered his verdict on how that potential fight could play out.
“He's a monster. He's just got to be very careful with the matches that you make for him. I mean, he's the best cruiserweight in the world, there's no disputing that,” said Bellew when discussing Opetaia with Casinoapps.com.
“I mean, I see challenges if you want to see the winner of Beterbiev versus Bivol? If it's Beterbiev, he wants to jump up from light heavy, you've got to be careful playing around people like him.
"He's an animal. He's powerful. For the first time I think Beterbiev will be feeling what's coming back at him. Opetaia can hit, he can move. He's slick. He poses a lot of problems for anyone.”
