Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will try to win back the IBF super middleweight title on May 3, according to His Excellency Turki Alalshikh.
Following Friday's announcement that Alvarez had signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, Alalshikh wasted little time in announcing the Mexican superstar's next opponent, posting on social media on Saturday that Canelo would take on current IBF champion William Scull.
"The legend Saul Alvarez Canelo will fight William Scull in undisputed fight in Riyadh on the 3rd of May … if he win the fight in September will be undisputed again," Alalshikh posted to X (formerly Twitter).
Former undisputed super middleweight champion Alvarez currently holds the WBA (Super), WBC and WBO belts after vacating the IBF title last year, leading to Scull's victory over Vladimir Shishkin for the vacant title.
