Oleksandr Usyk has proven himself as the best heavyweight of his generation and he can add more to his impressive reputation this weekend.
However could he defeat one of the very best heavyweights of all time - Lennox Lewis? Another former champion, Johnny Nelson, has been giving his view on just that.
Usyk heads to Wembley Stadium this Saturday, July 19, live on DAZN PPV , as he looks to become undisputed heavyweight champion for a second time, this time against Daniel Dubois .
In recent years, Usyk has demonstrated great qualities to climb the heavyweight rankings, and he finally became world champion in 2021 when he outpointed Anthony Joshua .
Last year, Usyk became the first man in boxing history to hold all four heavyweight belts when he beat Tyson Fury last May. He defeated Fury for a second time at the backend of the year to sit atop of the division looking down at all his rivals.
In Dubois, Usyk will go over old ground as he faces an opponent that he stopped back in 2023 when the pair met in Poland .
Since that setback, Dubois has rebuilt impressively, and he has registered numerous wins against top operators at heavyweight.
Last September, at the same venue he fights in this weekend, Dubois shocked the world when he scored the biggest victory of his career.
Against huge odds, Dubois dropped Anthony Joshua four times as he stopped his domestic rival in the fifth session, but he will likely have to improve on that showing when he faces Usyk on Saturday.
Usyk has proved a generational great already and one of the best of all time, but the debate will always rage as to just how high he ranks against those all time legends.
He has also seen off all British challengers put in front of him, including Fury, AJ, Whyte and Dubois the first time around.
So, what about his changes against another British great and the last man to hold the undisputed heavyweight crown, Britian's Lennox Lewis?
Johnny Nelson, a former cruiserweight world champion, has witnessed Usyk’s rise first hand, but he thinks a fight between Usyk and Lewis would have been a step too far for the Ukrainian.
“Lennox Lewis. Lennox was too big, too strong, too smart, a true student of the game,” said Nelson when speaking to DAZN News via NewBettingSites.uk .
“He had every array of artillery - a good jab, could bring shots up the inside. He would fight everyone in his era, big or small.
“In some ways it's unfair to match boxers across eras, but in my opinion, Lennox would have been the man to dethrone Usyk."
