Serie A's sacking season continued in full swing this week when Atalanta became the fourth club to make a change in their dugout.

Sunday's 3-0 home defeat to Sassuolo was the last straw for the club owners and it meant Ivan Juric was shown the sack after only arriving at the club in the summer.

The loss followed his much-publicised touchline disagreement with Ademola Lookman during Atalanta's Champions League clash with Marseille and comes at the end of a run that has seen the Croatian win just two of eleven league games.

It makes another disappointing reign on Juric's CV after failing to keep Southampton in the Premier League last season, in a dismal spell at St Mary's.

Atalanta were quick to replace their now former boss, and in his place comes Raffaele Palladino, who had already been linked with the vacant posts at Juventus and Fiorentina.

It was in Florence where we last saw Palladino, where last season he led the club to sixth in Serie A, qualifying for the UEFA Conference League, before leaving at the end of the season.

The 41-year-old  has now reportedly signed an 18-month deal with the Bergamo-based side and will take charge of his first game after the international break.

It won't be the easiest of starts for the new boss, as he takes Atalanta to Naples and the home of reigning champions Napoli, who will be looking to bounce back following their defeat to Bologna before the break.

Palladino will be aided by assistant manager Stefano Citterio, technical collaborator Federico Peluso (a former Atalanta player), fitness coaches Fabio Corabi and Nicola Riva, match analysts Andrea Ramponi and Mattia Casella.

After Napoli, he'll face a Champions League encounter with Eintracht Frankfurt before a meeting with his old club Fiorentina.
