Chris Eubank Jr. is "not trying to sell the fight" with his actions, believes Ben Shalom, after the star upended an eventful press conference with rival Conor Benn.

The former hit his opponent in the face with an egg as they squared off ahead of The Ring's Fatal Fury, City of the Wolves at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium,  live on DAZN .

Both men had to be split by security after a back-and-forth press conference in Manchester that had seen Eubank repeatedly talk over opposite promoter Eddie Hearn.

Speaking afterwards, BOXXER boss Shalom stressed he does not approve of his star's exploits, while acknowledging the fight, set for April 26, is already set to sell well.

"I don't think [the antics] necessarily adds to it," he told DAZN . "I don't think Chris is even thinking about selling the fight. He's obviously thought that was his retribution.

"I don't agree with it, but that's not what has gone through his head. He's not trying to sell the fight with that. Tottenham seems like the perfect venue. I think it's [will] sell."

The venue, which is has become a popular venue in the United Kingdom for boxing mega-fights, was one of several venues Shalom revealed was considered for the bout.

"We looked at Wembley," he added. "It does give us an extra 10,000 or 15,000. But I think it is the central location, the proximity to the pitch, the atmosphere and the music.

"The way they have put the ground together, it is almost as if it was an audotorium for boxing. I've never seen a stadium like it. I think the atmosphere is going to be electric.

"I remember Kell Brook [against Amir Khan], and we always wished we could have put that in a stadium in the northwest, but they just don't have the facilities."
